Date: November 1, 2016 12pm MDT (11am AZ)
Presenter: Molly Hunter, University of Arizona
This webinar will include recent science findings and a case study. Dr. Molly Hunter will present results from an assessment of outcomes from research projects funded by the Joint Fire Science Program to determine whether or not science has been used to inform management and policy decisions. Surveys and interviews explored factors that facilitate use of fire science. Findings suggest science has mostly been used during planning efforts, to develop treatment prescriptions, and to evaluate current practices. In addition, Craig Wilcox from the US Forest Service will present an example of how science was used to guide projects on the Coronado National Forest. View webinar recording here.
